EXTRA!

The Flat Tire Staff

KAILUA- Local area ceramic artist, Imis Sedit, unvieled today the latest in ceramic glazing techniques: the unglazed spot.
"The unglazed spot took me years and years to develop. Many, many trials and errors," said the artist.
What looks like an unglazed spot is actually an optical illusion created by a secret brush stroke technique that took years for Sedit to perfect.
"Many many years I study zen, and zen brush strokes. The secret brush stroke came to me in a koan," Sedit revealed.
Roughly translated it means, "If the brush does not touch the pot, is the glaze really there?"
