Late Edition

Today I sort of just attached myself to the couch.
I swear it's like glue or velcro on there.
I just can't seem to get up.
Okay, not really.
I got up.
For lunch.
I ate lunch.
Then I fell asleep.
Then I woke up.
Feeling guilty.
So off I went!
I had to try out my new light:

It sucks.
I mean it's bright and all, but it throws a circular beam that only illuminates well, a small circle in front of you.
Not exactly helpful when you are riding at Super Sonic speeds.
So I had to slow down.
Sub sonic don't you know.
Thankfully, the back half of the viaduct was lit up:

I'm not sure why the first part is in darkness and the last part if lit up, but we've been having a rash of copper wire thefts.
Dudes are stripping the wiring from street lights on the highways and making it dark all over.
I wanted to check out the path with the solar lights:

They look really nice and do a good job of lighting that stretch of path.
There's a lot of ambient light around though, so it's sort of a waste.
I wish they were down by the viaduct.
Which I got back to just as it started to rain.
So instead of crossing and going with traffic, I made my way back through the darkness and crossed over to take refuge at the local liquor store:

Reminded me of a time back in another life.
Anyways, the rain sort of stalled and I wanted to get a few more miles in.
So off I went!
To the backside of the airport:

Back when I was in high school, the whole area wasn't developed like it was now.  Most of the roads were really trails that lead to the water where we would come and park to well, park.
If you know what I mean.
We called the place Strobes, for the runway lights.
I've been trying to figure out a way to photograph the place at night, but there's like a tall fence and no clear shot of the runways.
To my left is the reef runway:

Bad image, cause I had to climb up on this to get it:

You know, to get a shot over the fence.
Anyways, what I need is a small camera with manual controls that shoots RAW.
One that I can take on the bicycle for these night time thingys.
I'm just not happy with what my pocket camera is doing.
More on this later.
Here's the lights of Honolulu and if you squint yer eyeballs, you can see the blue lights of the reef runway on the right:

I think I need to bring out Big Mama to pull the lights in, but I don't have a nice angle for a shot.
Something to work on while I'm on vacation.
Anyways, it was time to go back as it was getting late and I needed to pass the lights out area with that crappy light.
The wet road home:

Oh and by the way, I found this headlight review on YouTube by non other than JRA which convinced me to go ahead and get a new light.
More night escapades when it arrives.
Maybe.
