Late, Late Edition

Sleeping Beauty by day.
Bicycle Ninja at night.
Sort of.
I did take sort of a nap after lunch.
Okay, it was a real nap, a nap so long I got started late.
Off I went!
Back to the harbor and the beach to try and catch the sunset.
Again.
Hawaiian bicycle path:

The bicycle lane starts a couple hundred yards up the road.
I passed by what looked like a hotrod rally.
All kinds of nice cars lined up on the highway trying to get into the parking lot.
Three classic Corvettes:

So anyways, I get to the beach and I don't know what to take a picture of.
I mean I've been here so many times it gets sort of boring.
Then again, that's what it's all about, making something boring interesting.
If you know what I mean.
I've been thinking of making some of them large prints for my brother and sister.
I sort of had an idea in my head, something like this:

Or maybe this:

We all used to go fishing quite a lot, but now with work and chillens and all, it's like hardly.
So I figured something to remind them of how it used to be.
I like the bottom one better.
Me taking pictures of fishing poles:

The sun was still fairly high so I headed on over to the other side, Ala Moana beach.
Obligatory shot of Diamond Head:

Me and Diamond Head:

Catching the last waves of the day:

So I hung around until it got sort of dark.
The beach was still pretty crowded when I left so I couldn't get this other shot I wanted.
I was getting hungry so I went to look for someplace to eat.
Much to my surprise, I ran into My Friend Kyle!

Okay, that's not him.
Just his truck.
I didn't want to take pictures of him slack, uh, resting.
Seems they were getting ready to shut off power to the whole area, changing voltage in the lines or something, and he's one of them underground folks.
He used to be an above ground folks, in the bucket and stuff, but now he lowers himself on a ladder.
We talked for a bit since we got that Haleiwa Art thing next weekend.
Well I didn't want to bother him too much while he was uh, resting, so I headed off in search of sustenance.
Which I found here:

I actually thought they were closed, like almost every place on my route, but I saw a couple of folks eating so I stopped in:

A cool sandwich place!
Except a Wailua Cream soda cost me like $3.50.
They did let me fill my water bottle though so I guess it was a wash.
I packed my food and headed over to Aloha Tower:

A honking Philly Cheese Steak Sammi!
It took me like three minutes, okay, maybe four, to swallow that thing down.
A bit pricey at $14 but sort of worth it too.
It was one of them melt in yer mouth type sammiches.
Tres bien!
I left home at 4 and didn't get back until 9:30 so I had a nice long ride.
Okay, not really.
It was only like 17 miles, Prevaricating Garmin info here.
I gotta say, I'm really starting to enjoy riding at night.
I'm not sure if the Rockhopper is the right bicycle for the job though.
More on this later.

Maybe a stealth beach cruiser, that looks like a beach cruiser but actually weighs 25 pounds, has a carbon fiber frame, and 20 speeds, for cruising to the beach fast? The beach racer! Maybe.

You sir, are not far from what I am thinking.
Part of the problem I'm going to have is that I will be on the second floor of a walk up and the Rockhopper is not exactly light.
Still thinking.
